As of September 28, 2023, the Hyundai Exter has not been crash-tested by Global NCAP.

Hyundai has expressed confidence that the Exter will achieve a good safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests, citing its standard six airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. However, the car has not yet been tested, so its official safety rating is unknown.

Once the Hyundai Exter has been crash-tested by Global NCAP, we will update the results here.

Points to consider while buying Exter

  • Hyundai Exter is available in the following variations: EX / EX(O), S / S(O), SX / SX(O) / SX (O) Connect.
  • The Exter only has one engine option, a 1.2L petrol engine. There’s also a CNG version available.
  • It comes with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT
  • Depending on your budget, EX and EX(O) can fit in at the starting level, but we would suggest the mid variant at least. If you can stretch a little bit, go for the topmost SX (O) Connect which is the fully loaded variant of the Hyundai Exter.
  • The Exter has an SUV-like design with a high seating position and a spacious cabin, which might be appealing for you.
