Story
The movie Pyasaa story is about an unsuccessful poet named Vijay whose works are not taken seriously by publishers. Vijay is condemned for writing on social problems rather than romantic themes. He has a chance encounter with a prostitute named Gulabo who buys and admires his works, and eventually falls in love with him. Vijay’s ex-girlfriend Meena is now married to a publisher who hires Vijay as a servant. Vijay is in a train accident and is presumed dead. Gulabo works with Vijay’s friend to publish his poems, and they become successful. Vijay wakes up from a coma and no one believes him. Vijay escapes from the mental asylum and goes to his own memorial service. He renounces the world and leaves with Gulabo to start a new life.
