Let’s say, you have narrowed down a list of choices of cars and you plan to visit the corresponding nearest car showroom soon. We understand you are excited to take a test drive and know more about the car and ready to book one for yourself if you get a good deal but, hold on, go through the tips and tricks that will make you a pro and the showroom salesperson will never be able to overrule you! Read on.
Points to note
When you visit your nearest car showroom, Always keep these things in mind when you reach the showroom and the salesperson is giving the demo of your chosen car.
- Don’t get diverted by seeing different other models of that brand – Once you reach the showroom, you will see many other models of the car brand you have chosen. Do not deviate from the actual model you have chosen. Get all the details of its related versions and then only if you have some time, look out for the other models of the car brand.
- Fix your budget in advance in a lump-sump mode. Doing so will ease the salesperson to show you all the available models in that budget. Pay attention to all the available variants of that particular model. Get a brochure for the comparison chart and again do your homework after coming back home.
- Check for every detail about the car. You might have done your homework on that car and definitely will have some queries/doubts. So, don’t hesitate to ask your queries to the salesperson. If he is not able to answer, check the details with his supervisor/manager. You have all the right to get the right info!
- Never get lured by the offers etc. the salesperson tries to give you and persuade you to book the car today itself. I have been a victim of this and booked a Renault Kwid and later realized that I had a lot more homework to do and maybe Kwid was not the right car for me. I had booked it by listening to the salesperson’s persuasive lecture and lost 50 – 60 % of the booking amount and also went through a hassle to get my money back.
- Ask for a test drive. If you know how to drive, then do the test drive by yourself. If possible, take the family along with you so that they can also get a look and feel of the outside of the car and the inside comfort of the car. These days, online booking is available for almost all the brands. Book it online so that, you don’t have to travel with full family to the showroom.
Hope this post provided some good insights and proves helpful in planning your showroom visits.
The points mentioned in the post are just a few to state and most importantly, listen to everyone but do what your mind & heart says. 🙂
All the best and feel free to ask us any queries in the comments section below. We will be glad to address it as soon as possible.

Very nice article 👌. Gave me some new point of view. Good work 👍
Hey, Nice article! Can you please suggest me the best car in terms of safety and performance in 2023 under 15 L (on road). Sorry I am tight on budget 😀 but, I am ok for mid variants of the brand.
Thanks for the detailed review! The test drive experience really gave me a better sense of how the car performs in real-world conditions. I’m definitely considering this model for my next purchase.
