Five-year-old Polo suddenly got an Engine Light “On” error on the odometer. After analyzing further, it was found to be Error P307A00 in the engine diagnosis tool.
Stay tuned till the last of this post, I have a video to explain all of this incident. 🙏🏻
How did it happen?
A few days back, While driving the car, it was noticed that the engine light signal started glowing suddenly. Since there was no breakdown, we kept driving the car.
Self Troubleshooting
After that, the car service provider was called up and explained the issue. We did a bit of troubleshooting at our end after going through a few online resources. Few of them were –
- Check if the fuel lid is loose or left open by mistake by the petrol pump guy. But that was perfectly fine and moreover, the car had been fuelled around 3-4 days back, hence this problem was ruled out.
- The Service team also asked us to do a manual check in the car engine if there were any signs of rats or Pest entry and report it to them, but when we checked, we could not find anything like that!
Troubleshooting in Garage
Finally, They took the car to the garage and started checking. First, they checked whether the air filter was fitted properly. That check passed!
In the Next step, they checked the whole engine area for any visible wear or tear related to the engine. They also checked any loose fittings or wiring near the engine area like the intake pipe fitting, battery wiring, etc. That check also passed!
Finally, they did the system diagnostic and found the issue.
Issue/Error Identification
Error Code: P307A00 Summary: Intake System Air throughput implausible.
This basically means that the throttle body was having some issues.
Issue/Error Fixing
hmm…!! The throttle body had dust and carbon accumulation over a long period. They removed the throttle body from the housing and cleaned it properly.
Finally, the error code was fixed and the engine light issue is fixed now.
The vehicle was test-driven for 20 km before handing over to us!
