In the land of scars a new gash bleeds,
On every drop of blood that incessant pain feeds,
Is this the agony that I can tame?
’cause every wound isn’t just the same.
Can your remedies end the torment?
Make me forget the pain, allay the lament?
Is this dreaded distress acute?
Or a long-suffering behind a countenance mute?
Need some time, the healer of the worst,
Soothe the pain, fix it I must,
And the scars that will be left behind,
Shall remind how brave I have been of heart and mind.
